Crawling through the underbrush, crushing acres of springtail habitat, we close in on our prey. We slither through the dank moss and loose soil, paying no mind to the sticks and vines clutching and scraping at us...we get closer. Mazzy reaches the subject ahead of me, and corner's it as I clutch the cold, steel body just inside my jacket pocket. I have the target in my sights, and fire off a few rounds. My timing is off just a bit on the first two, but the third and fourth catch the target dead in the cap. I aim lower, and fire off a couple more shots.
"You got it!" Shouts Mazzy, as she leans down to inspect the body and surrounding area. "Dad, there's one behind you!"
I spin around, focusing on this new target, but a root juts up, catching my left foot, and I topple to the ground, dropping my weapon...I watch it fall to a puddle just inches from the fleshy body of the target...as I lift myself, Mazzy approaches.
"Good thing our camera is water proof, huh Dad?" She picks it up, focusing it on this second mushroom, and takes the picture...
